raya

Sep 2025 - Jan 2026. Designer-Engineer.

Made it with the same friend I worked with on the music sharing project. At that point I was in Saint P, Russia and because basically everything on the internet was blocked, we decided to create a project that would let people use AI in Russia without VPNs.

We initially started with a simple chat system and a few Chinese AI providers, then made it possible to use OpenAI and Anthropic as well. We had 10+ providers, and a ton of models. Was a good experience for me, reverse engineering ChatGPT and Anthropic UIs and the little things they do to make the experience better.

We also worked on a way for users to customize the platform. Adding stickers on the sides, changing colors, making the chat UI yours. Heavily inspired by Amo's Sugar app.

One of the coolest ideas we had: instead of "chat history" you would just have "spaces", similar to Arc browser. Each space would have its own history, but it would never sit right in front of you. Instead we would enrich every conversation with metadata, so it would be easier for the AI to look up related information. So your work space would only know work-related stuff, and your personal one would never mention work (work / life balance thing).

Molly's Match

Jun 2025 - Jan 2026. Product Designer / Animation Consultant.

Worked on Molly's Match. I actually really liked this job. It was my first time in the video game industry, and it was so cool to see how many talented people worked on it. Also realised how important metrics are - basically that's the most important thing. If you want to be in the top 100, you have to obsess over every tiny detail. Artwork and animation. Everything has to work together to create an experience that would suck people in, and keep them as long as possible. Sounds kinda bad tbh, but you can't imagine how much art and VFX goes into creating that experience!

Had fun flying to NY to meet with our VC partners, right before successfully raising the seed round. Helped on improving metrics and core gameplay systems just before that.

[UNTITLED MUSIC SHARING PROJECT]
Oct 2024 - Dec 2024. Designer-Engineer.

Worked on it with a friend. I took design and app development, he did the backend.

It started because I was the only one in my friend group using Apple Music. When they shared music with me, I had to open the link, then open Apple Music and search for the song. I tested the idea with a Shortcut - made a few for my friends that would automatically convert their link to Apple Music. They loved it, started asking for similar shortcuts for other services. After that we started working on the full app.

It reached a point where the app could convert songs from Spotify, Apple Music, Yandex Music and Deezer. It also showed you what your friends were listening to in real time, but we only had time to do Spotify and Apple Music.

We stopped the project when I moved to Seoul and had to start working at VOSK.

Flowstage Studio.
Jul 2022 - Jan 2023. Frontend Engineer.

Developed interactive websites along with Sasha.

We had around 4-5 clients at that time. We created websites with a lot of motion graphics, and because I only had a MacBook 12" with a 1.1 GHz CPU at that time, I had to learn how to optimize them for low-end machines. Great experience!

Fun times. During this time, I did a one day trip to Moscow (literally one day, arrived at 6pm, left at 4am) to see the Vivaldi - Four Seasons show. Sasha told me it was "the most Russian thing that I've ever heard".

Shumel Studio.
May 2022. Cofounder.

Co-founded a design and development studio in Warsaw with a friend, which grew to a team of 8. Reached $20K MRR. Worked with clients from the US and Poland, providing design and MVP development.

Initially we started as a team of 2, but pretty soon we had to hire new engineers and sales people. Thankfully I had friends who were really good at this. Later on we hired junior developers and helped them grow.

During this time I learned that I was too young for it. Had my heart broken when I had to fire one of our developers. Tough stuff tbh. Also found out that not everybody is kind - a few of our clients were taking advantage of our lack of business experience, and we had to learn how to say no and stand our ground.

Freelance.
Sep 2018 - Mar 2022. Full Stack Engineer.

I initially started working on a redesign for my college's website. I'll be forever grateful for my computer science teacher at that time, who was supportive of my initiative, and even approached the dean with my redesign.

Then I started working on a few fun ideas that I had. Since I was only 16 at that time and kinda drama type, I knew that I would spend Valentine's Day alone, so I created a website where people could leave their location and thoughts about spending Valentine's Day alone as well.

After moving to a new city, I ended up in a group of people who were organizing rap battles, and I became the video editor for them, since I had been doing that since I was 14. Even had a few hits on the local social networks (50k+ views). After opening up a night club with a core group of 3 people, I left it, and returned to being a designer / developer.

I've worked on Russian freelance marketplace platforms. Had a lot of small jobs that helped me get experience.

Eventually ended up being approached by organizers of Veloufa, through my friends - an annual marathon for cyclists in Ufa, accommodating 20k participants. Built the whole platform for users and organizers with Vue and Node.js. It had marathon registration, e-shop for merch, personalized participant pages and a way to customize your marathon badge, staff platform, and QR code verification for participant validation.

At the same time, one of my regular clients from Mansion Global - a real estate company - approached me to work with them on marketing pages for a new batch of complexes. I built it with TS and Node.js. Built a custom CRM system integrated with the websites, enabling data collection, organized sign-ups, and facilitating direct communication. Designed and developed frontend.
